I'd have actually given 2.5/3 stars, if not for the absolute frustration of the experience of getting a simple order fulfilled. The core of it being a complete lack of communication.
Here's the timeline:
- Placed order on a Saturday at 5.30p, expecting a same-day delivery as per their rules
- NO UPDATE from their end of any kind, nothing delivered
- I sent a followup email on Sunday, asking for an update. NO RESPONSE.
- I tried calling them on their phone numbers, NO RESPONSE
- I reached out on their Business Whatsapp Number. NO RESPONSE
- I finally reached out to them via Instagram, to which I got a reply the next day
- Even then, the replies were 1 line response, sent the next day
It has taken me AN ENTIRE WEEK to get a basic ice-cream delivery, and numerous followups to get their attention. I'd not expect something like from a premium brand like Burma Burma.
The most BASIC ASPECT of "customer communication" is completely missing.
Coming to the icecreams:
- Pineapple Energee -- very mild taste, tasted more like mango
- Dark Chocolate & Olive -- average, the olive oil addition gives a bitter aftertaste which may/may not be appealing to many
- Avocado & Honey -- very mild, tasted more like a healthy icecream without a feeling of indulgence
- Caramalised Chocolate & Cheese -- the only decent one out of the lot, passably good
Burma Burma, for the respected brand that is, really needs to understand the basics of liaising, communicating, and servicing a customer.
Delays are acceptable, there could even be operational challenges on their end. But keeping the customer in the loop, keeping them updated, are absolute basics.
And you do not need an irate customer to explain this to you.
